1. No I don't think their are any major changes in the quote module until
5.2 where you can drag & Drop.
2. Parts are not automatically created in the part file because you can just
copy from a quote if you desire or copy the routing and material to a part
in the part file. Vantage tries not to force you down a path where you have
to use the part file now that you ordered something. This is a feature that
jobs can copy from quotes, parts or other jobs so vantage can flow with what
you actually do. My case, the first job on a new part is copied from the
quote. It lets us get a job going quicker than waiting for a part master
record to get created. After that a part master record is created which
incorporated all the improvements/changes over the quote.
3. We think the quote module is peachy.

Subject: [Vantage] Quote Module Questions
We are currently using Vantage 4. We are not using the Quote Module, but
have a user looking at it and playing with it in the test database. So far
she's not highly impressed. She has a few questions for those of you who
are using it.
1. Does it change much in newer versions of Vantage? I have a test server
set up that is currently running 5.1, but I have not connected anyone to
it.
2. She says that parts created in a quote are not automatically created in
the part master when an order is placed. They have to create the part a
second time. Is this true, or is she missing something?
3. Do you have anything else to say regarding the Quote Module?
Thanks!
