Tring to test rejecting material from a job at an operation. When I try to save the nonconformance I get an error message - " Qty for part exceeds amount in warehouse for operation . View part location -
Checking part location in Job tracker I don’t see any transactions but if I look at the operation detail the correct qty has been completed on that operation

Are you doing the NC during End Activity, or from the Non-Conformance screen? The error message sounds like it is trying to do an NC from inventory rather than from the job operation.
I had ended the activity in time and expense before going to Nc
Was the operation on the job marked as complete? If so, there would not be any WIP quantity to nonconform on that operation. You could go back into the operation (Start Prod), immediately do End Activity and nonconform from there. Ynote - you will get a very small labor entry.
