Question on Standard Cost

Hello,
I found out how the Average cost of a purchased part is adjusted/calculated when we receive a PO. But I couldn’t find how or if Standard Cost of the purchased part is calculated. What affects Standard cost of the purchased part ? Or can Standard cost of the purchased part only be adjusted manually thru Cost Adjustment?

Standard Cost is not updated through transactions, only through Cost Adjustments. Epicor is friendly enough to calculate the average and last costs for you even when using Standard as a costing method.

If I remember correctly, purchase parts are not updated during a cost roll either.

I’m pretty sure you can choose manufactured or purchased. But a cost roll should set standard cost on purchased parts as well.

If you’re purchase part for some reason have a method and pulled into the costing workbench for a cost roll, then it will roll it up as mfg part (even though its coded as purchase part), unless you specify in the “Site Cost Maintenance” to skip the rollup.

Engineering > Setup > Site Cost Maintenance
