After looking at the Epicor QA module our QA dept. opted to go with an external system called Thrive. They felt control of inspection plans a several other features was better that route. The developer is very knowledgeable of the Epicor DB and has done extensive integrations between the two systems (SQL versions anyway – we’re on E10). For education & training tracking we opted for Saba and it seems to be doing what is desired although we are just starting to track real events and requests as well as setting up training courses on-line. Our Training Manager has had no issues with it that I have heard of. I don’t have cost details but I know Thrive was a lot less than Epicor because we had formerly used it some years ago and still were licensed and supported. Saba is SharePoint based but works on our very basic version we use for document control.
If you have questions I can relay them to the people most experienced with what we are using.

Subject: [Vantage] QA, EQA, AQM
Looking to see if anyone is willing to offline converse about these three module.
What we NEED to do:
Scrap Material Components
Track Spec of ink color (that’s about it so no much)
DMR
What we would LIKE to do:
Track training through Epicor for positions, and safety
Trigger inspection (check-ins) every 30 minutes of a running job
Some of what I described above requires customization that I know, but just what people think of these features of QA, and if they are worth having. We don’t currently have a quality program but would be building one with Epicor in mind.
