Hello, currently we are trying to work out the bugs in our Purchase Suggestions and MRP. For some reason the purchase suggestions keep suggesting reducing a PO release to keep us right at the “minimum on hand” instead of waiting until we hit the max. Shouldn’t it only give reduce suggestions if the max on hand is hit for a part quantity? Has anyone else run into this issue.
If there is no sales order, transfer order or job demand for the material part and you have a minimum on hand that is met then Epicor is trying to tell you that you really don’t need to buy these parts.
Okay that makes sense. The issue we are running into is we have an assembly that gets sold to customers that has parts that go into it that are also assemblies. The material for that sub-assembly don’t get picked up as purchase suggestions unless there is a job for the sub-assembly. Is there a way to get Epicor to see multiple layers deep just based off of the main assembly?
Hi Zach,
In some cases we find it useful to lock PO release date and quantity to eliminate suggestions to change a PO we know we will not change. Maybe you can test this and see if it is helpful. Beware however if you need something immediately (e.g., to fulfill SS…Epicor wants it right away) or sooner than current PO is going to get there, you might get a suggestion to create a New PO to cover the more immediate demand.
Nancy
How do you “lock” the PO release date? This might be helpful for us but I don’t see where you do that
Gotcha! Thanks for this. I will definitely give this a try to see if it helps with creating less suggestions
