PO comments, VB Forms and User Fields are all workable but I had hoped to
minimize extra steps Purchasing might have to perform. I thought perhaps I
was not seeing the issue clearly and one of you folks might have a slick way
of accomplishing this. End result is I wrote a quick RB with a Custom Report
Link in Vantage that enables AP operator to insert specific PO numbers into
the filter and do a print preview which returns PO # and authorized method
of shipment.

Why not use the "User Fields" if they aren't already in use, saves having to
create a VB form for just the freight info? And it's easier to grab a user
field to print, if you want to do that. Does AP get a copy of the PO from
receiving?

How about putting a checkbox on the PO's VBForm like "Premium Freight OK".
This will then be accessible from the PO tracker. And it would be an easy
thing for purchasing to use as well.

We receive most of our parts in relatively small shipments by UPS, Fed Ex or
US Postal. We have a policy of no premium freight (such as UPS Red) unless
authorized by our Puchasing Department to meet production schedules.
Our AP department, when auditing invoices, are unable to see in PO tracker
when a premium freight rate has been authorized so AP operators then have to
go to the hard copy of PO to verify.
Is anyone aware of any way (systematically within Vanatge) to be able to
view the ship via on PO's without enabling the viewer to change the order in
any way?
