Project Cost

Hi,
I am trying to understand how the cost gets on the project when the purchase order isn’t linked to a job, and is just listed under the project.

I am looking at po lines 1 and 2 on project A.

I see the purchase order on the job and the two line items, but how do you see the cost?

When does the cost show up on the project?

You need to “Build Project Analysis”. This does a costing of the project. Click Actions on the menu bar and select Build Project Analysis.

Anytime you need to update the costs, you will need to run it.

okay and once I run, where I can see the cost?

Once you run it, go to the Project Costs tab to see the costs for the entire project:

If the PO is linked to a phase of the project, you can look at the costs for just the phase on the WBS Phase Costs tab:

How is project costing working for you guys in project entry? we currently use other methods rather than in project entry, is it quirky?
