I am experiencing some difficulties when trying to add the context menu “Part Description” for the Part field in Purchase Advisor. Interestingly, the same context menu is available for the Part field in Purchase Order Entry and both programs are using the Columns Like Part.PartNum and the same Process ID Erp.UI.PartDescription. By the way, I have checked the little check box (customization) at the top of the screen before making changes.

In some screens part description does appear in the context menu via part.partnum (like quote entry and po entry), but not in others like purchase advisor. That’s not the usual behavior with most context menu items.
I don’t see anything in our answerbook on this, so I’ll do some research into this
I asked about whether you received the Part context menu because I experienced a situation where I created a grid for display within a customization and neglected to associate the column’s “Like” property. Once I made that change, the appropriate context menu appeared, but I doubt your situation matches my example.
If you are already getting the context menu, I’m afraid I don’t have additional insights. Good luck to you. Hopefully someone will respond with something helpful.
