Printer HELP!

Thanks for the input. They tell me that this printer model has new
hardware inside and that it would not work on the v4.23 firmware. I
have tried a lot of different drivers and I have not found one to
work properly. I spent a lot of time on the phone with Zebra tech
support and agree that their support is somewhat lacking in
expertise. Thanks for the Seagull tip, Shirley. I did try it, but
those drivers also do not work right.
It would appear to me that this particular firmware 'upgrade' is more
of a downgrade.

Hi Group,

I was wondering what label printer are you all using to
print "Receipt Entry" Tags??? We have been trying to make a Zebra
TLP2824 work, but "trying" seems to be the operative word here. We
print to a .75 x 2.25 label and do not print the barcode.
We need to find a different printer and I'd appreciate any input you
guys have! PLEASE give me some good advice!!

Hi Joey,



I have had problems with Zebra (TLP2844).

First make sure that your label space fits the capacity of the printer.

If your are using the label from Vantage check to make sure that it will
fit .75 x 2.25.

What software are you using. (printer driver)?

Are you printing from the land client or Citrix?

What print preferences are set for the printer?

This will help to get started.

We are currently using a Zebra TLP2824. The first one we bought with
firmware version 4.23 works really well. The seconed one we purchased
a few months later was firmware version 4.41 and we can't make it
work at all!! We are printing a modified version of the Crystal
Report "PartTags.rpt". Does anyone else use this printer? We've tried
it with W2000 and XP and still have more problems with this printer
than all the other printers in our building combined! Any suggestions?

Probably not exactly related but when we installed our Zebra Z4M there was a lot of problems printing. Especially making multiple copies of labels. The problem resolution was eventually in using an entirely different firmware setting on the driver side from what the printer reports needs to be used. After several calls to Zebra with no luck I finally hit someone who knew right away what was needed. So their tech support does not seem to have a really good knowledgebase to search and you might just have to keep trying. You might even be able to entering into the driver setup, for the new printer, the older firmware rev level and see if that helps.

You might also try going to www.seagullcientific.com
<http://www.seagullcientific.com/> and using their driver set. It made a
big difference with our Z4M's. Also I had good luck installing the nearest
generic driver than the regular Z4M driver.
