Prevent tax calculation on misc charges

Hello,

E9.05.702A

We sent up tax rates for our AP Invoicing but we want to prevent misc charges from being included in these calculations.
Is it possible to set this up and, if so, could someone give me some pointers?

Does E9 not have the Tax Category setting for each Misc Charge?

Hi Calvin,

It does. Could you please show me how the Tax Category, in your screenshot, is setup?

Once you get the tax category setup on the Misc charge you will need to go to the Tax Type to set this category as an exemption.

We use Avalara AvaTax - It creates most of the Tax categories In the pict below, the ones with a CatID starting with 2 letters, followed by 6 digits are created by Avalara. The Nontaxable was buy us.

Avalara also manages the tax rates. When I go into Tax Category Maint, none of the entries have any Tax Rates assigned.

It may very well be a setting in the Avalara dashboard (tool accessed through Avalara’s website)
