We have MRP and we have selected Allow Consumption of Minimum Quantity on the Site Maintenance.
I have a part that is not behaving like the rest, so I am looking for help to identify where the problem is occurring. Can a setting at the part or supplier level override the Allow Consumption of Minimum Quantity at the site.
This is how Allow Consumption of Minimum Quantity should work:
Could this be caused by a different Lead time on the Supplier Price List for this part (than what the part master has)? I still think that with Allow Consumption of Minimum Quantity, I should not get a new suggestion until we are projected to drop below the minimum quantity on hand.
There are no more lines on Time Phase than what I am showing.
We originally did not have “Allow Consumption of Minimum Quantity” checked, but re-order to max was checked and we would get a PO suggestion every time we were projected to fall below the Max On Hand. This resulted in too many POs, so we checked the “Allow Consumption of Minimum Quantity” and it now waits to create a PO suggestion until we are projected to fall below Min On hand (plus Safety Stock), then it reorders to Max. However, this part does not seem to follow that same procedure and I am having trouble identifying why.
Supplier Price List lead time will override the lead time on the item master. So will Days Out on a subcontract operation, if you have an entry for the subcontract part on Supplier Price List.
It turns out that the even though Time Phase was showing a Due Date for the open PO, for some reason the PO header did not have the due date field populated. Once the due date field on the PO Header was populated, then the New PO Suggestion fell off the list.
