Perfect, that was it. I just didn't have a "default" designated approver.

Though we're on Epicor version 9.05.700C, yours sounds similar, so I hope
this helps.
The 'Buyer' in PO approval is actually the buyer account for the approval
person, not the buyer on the PO. So, if you are the designated approver, for
example, you'd want to select your name from the Buyer field. You should see
her PO in the queue with Action options to approve or reject.
