Planning approval hangs

Since this was asked recently I'll provide an update. I just got off the
phone with Virginia in Support and there is a known bug (SCR 4608) in the
check-in process in engineering workbench. It has been fixed in the next
5.20 patch (5.20.3xx) which is now in quality testing. In the mean time the
problem is caused when a resequenced operation uses the same operation
sequence number as a former operation so the workaround is to make sure that
no operation uses a previously used sequence number. That is; change the
sequence numbers so that none are the same as a previously used sequence
number - or - when deleting sequences don't resequence. This should allow
the part to be checked in without it going into an endless loop.

planning, and select the "Check In" item from the Revision menu,
the "Check In Complete" dialog comes up, but the computer hangs, and
we have to reboot to clear it up. It normally happens if we try to
approve several in a row, without closing and reopening the
Engineering Workbench between each one. Has anyone else experienced
this problem?

Yes, we are seeing this too. Hangs (freeze ups) in Eng. Wkbnch and Job
Entry. Mainly in EW in the check-in process. On advice from Epicor Support
(before calling them back again) I went through the performance tuning
instructions and made all the recommended settings then restarted the DB
last night. Waiting this morning to see if it helps. But thanks fort he
tip about closing and reopening EW if we are still seeing it I will try
that.
