When you print a sales order pick list, the pick list comments on the order show up on the paper.
If I want to instead use the material request queue to inform what needs to be picked and process the picks, I cannot find an easy way to display the comments on the SO to the picker.
Am I missing something or will this wind up being a custom solution?
As a proof of concept I created a BPM that pulls the pick list comments into the ‘Message’ field in the request queue grid.
I guess this is ok, although I don’t like using a field for which I do not know the intended purpose or how it is meant to get populated. Some quick data digging shows we don’t use it at all.
We had a similar request when we switched and ended up making a custom comments field. It made more sense to do that as then if there’s another comment that is needed then anyone can put a note on a record. i.e. inventory was off so we are out but the system thought we had enough to cover when the record was created.
