If you started it on January 2nd…it will post to January 2nd.
Your accountant, though can do a reversing entry for inventory in to 2013.

Is this surely true for Vantage 8.03? This is my first FULL Physical Inventory with Vantage 8.03 and I just need to make sure that this is the case? The help file says that “posting is done from the date of the start of the count”. In our case, the date of the “start of the count” is January 2, 2014. We just need to insure that when we post the count the posted transactions are for 2013. Please excuse my lack of understanding. Thank you for your help.

We have started our 2013 physical inventory "count" on January 2, 2014. How do we make sure once we are done that when we "post" our counts that the transactions show up as 2013?
