Phantom BOM in Operation 10 and 20, Cost is only showing for Operation 30

We have a MOM with 3 Operations

Operation 10 has a Phantom BOM and is set to backflush
Operation 20 has a Phantom BOM and is set to backflush
Operation 30 has materials and is set as quantity and auto receive into inventory

When we use the Kanban application to report production the cost of the item is correct in the part transaction history tracker. However, if we create a quick job or create a job in Job Entry and then report production, the cost of the part in the transaction history tracker shows only the cost associated with items in Operation 30. We are only capturing the cost of the raw material in these jobs. We use average costing.

1 - Why does it cost correctly when we use a Kanban job?
2 - Why doesn’t it cost correctly when we use quick job entry and report time and expense and then close the job?
3 - How do we ‘fix’ this?

Any help would be appreciated. I’ve scoured the site trying to find any posts with a similar situation, but can’t seem to find anything.

Thanks!

So the operation is set to backflush the labor instead of time and quantity or quantity.

You need to run the back flush labor process to have that operation’s labor and associated materials get processed.

And yes the Kanban function works slightly different.

Thanks for the response!

I gave that a shot, but I’m still getting the same result. The MFG-STK transaction contains a cost for the materials in Operation 30 and then when I do a WIP capture, it creates a MFG-VAR transaction which contains the material costs from Operation 10 and 20. We don’t capture labor in our jobs, it only captures material cost.
