Seems to be hit or miss. I don’t think you are SUPPOSED to have to do it, but a lot of them give “grey screen of death” until you do.

Mine’s just locking up when I try to generate it saying “object not set to instance of object”…

No I meant, I had to do generate form again on the report style screen because I couldn’t get the existing ones to load anymore. If you are getting an error just generating in the first place I don’t know.

I was, but I think it eventually went through it just hung there for a while . cause I came back after my meeting and tried the menu item again and it worked…
Thank you for your help. I’m surprised this isn’t listed as a step in the upgrade guide. When you’re on cloud do they do it for you somehow?

I don’t think you’re supposed to have to do it, I think its a bug. One of those things that is nigh-impossible to reproduce therefor can’t report it.

What about Kinetic Layers… is there no maintenance program to re-deploy those? Do I have to go into each app and that has a custom layer and re-publish the layer?
In application studio, you can filter on <>base, then check the box at the top to select everything, and then in the overflow menu publish selected layers to do them all at once.

For what it’s worth I had to go into dashboard maintenance and open each dashboard and preview it from the deploy tab for it to every work for me. Redeploying it didn’t do anything, I HAD to preview it using that button in the deploy window.

Kinetic Apps/Kinetic Dashboards.
I have no idea why I had to do it like this. They just wouldn’t launch at all, even wihtout custom layers, even after conversion workbench etc. Just wouldn’t do anything.
The second we went to Kinetic I stopped doing anything with classic (where I could).

Yeah so that isn’t deploying them - you are actually creating the kinetic dashboard from the classic dashboard when you do that.
