PartTran table issues

Greetings,

While trying to track down one problem, I've stumbled upon another ..
(don't you love it when that happens?)

I've noticed that, when shipping parts to our customer (and perhaps other
times, this is just the first time I've paid much attention to this), there
are sometimes a number of strange transactions in the PartTran table. There
will be three transactions: one to ship the parts, another negative quantity
transaction that reverses the shipment, and then a third transaction to
re-ship the parts again.

I initially assumed that our shipping department had printed the packing
slip, realized a mistake, reversed the packing slip, and then printed a
revised one. However, these particular transactions are within seconds
(well, 60-90 seconds) of each other. And, our shipping department claims
not to have reversed the packing slip.

This particular example is of several parts that all shipped on the same
pasking slip. I have not (yet) researched further to see if this *only*
happens on multi-line shippers.

On our packing slip # 27021, there are 5 line items. When I look into the
transaction history for the 5 parts on this packing slip, I see:

Part # Tran Qty TranType Time

Part_1 20 Stk-Cus 10:58:07 (Line item #1 on the packing slip)
" -20 Stk-Cus 10:58:39
" 20 Stk-Cus 10:59:25

Part_2 20 Stk-Cus 10:58:07 (Line item #2 on the packing slip)
" -20 Stk-Cus 10:58:39
" 20 Stk-Cus 10:59:24

Part_3 20 Stk-Cus 10:58:07 (Line item #3 on the packing slip)
" -20 Stk-Cus 10:58:39
" 20 Stk-Cus 10:59:24

Part_4 20 Stk-Cus 10:59:24 (Line item #4 on the packing slip)

Part_5 20 Stk-Cus 10:59:25 (Line item #5 on the packine slip)

It looks like the first three line items were written to the table at
10:58:07, all three were reversed at 10:58:39, and then all five items were
written to the table at 10:59:24 (give or take a second or so).

Any clues?

Thanks!
