I see this quite often. One reason is a non-sensical material qty per, like 0, in a Job BOM. Easiest way I found to track down the problem is to run the Time Phase report. Jobs with zero requirements come up with a ??? in the Balance column and all following entries will show the same. Kinda like Vantage saying "I'm confused."

There is a utility from Epicor that makes the ??? go away. But it really doesn't solve the problem of incorrect Job BOMs.

Use report builder to search part tran for that part and amount.
You can then see the transaction record, this might help tell you who did
what.

Jesse,

I had something like that last week. One of the operators entered 1000
pieces completed in 2 minutes when the production rate was 20 per hour. So
their efficiency was off the charts. When I corrected their labor entry it
was cleared up.

Check your rates and entries. Hope this helps.

I had the same issue, Tech Support had me run System Utilities #6430 to rebalance qty on hand etc...

Jesse,

I ran into this as well. Luckily, the part had very little activity
and I was able to track it down. In a Sales Order for the part causing us
problems, we had a requirement closed short after shipping less than what
was required. Also, there were no more requirements available. So, Vantage
sums up the requirements for the allocation in the Part Tracker and comes
up with a negative number. Which was the short shipped amount. Not sure if
this is a new bug or what, but I solved it by going back into that closed
release line and making the requirement match what was shipped and closed
it again. The error went away after that.
