Part Revision visibility

Even w/out lot control, table PartTran contains a RevisionNum field.

I just checked and all TranClass equal 'R' records (receipts) DO carry revision. (I didn't check Issues) -but that should allow a part-rev-date based recipt labelling process to enable physical FIFO (and perhaps a systemic BAQ report simulated view to that effect).

Rev level inventory is something that Epicor really needs to address. I heard mention of it during one of last years 'road shows' but it sounds several releases out.

We handle it by having lot tracked parts. When receiving parts to stock we add the rev letter or number to the end of the lot number. This way we can see all the rev levels and quantites by looking in the Part Tracker bin inventory.

If you right click on the part and open with part adviser, it will give you the rev with which the part was manufactured. As far as shipments of old revision, basically up to shipping dept or different bin locations for the separate revisions.
