Part Quick Search not default in BOM Listing Report

We have a Quick Search created for PartNum that appears as the default search wherever there is a Part search button/functionality, whether in a Classic screen or a Kinetic screen. Except in the Kinetic version of BOM Listing Report, it is not the default and we have to click a couple of different things within search to get to it. The Classic version of this report did not have this issue.

I checked more than a dozen native reports (in Kinetic UI) that have a Part field in the Filter options; all of them opened our part quick search by default and allowed for selection of multiple parts.

I opened a case with Epicor about this and their final answer to me is that this is by design, that it is a personalization, and each individual user will need to go and set that Quick Search as the default within BOM Listing Report for it to be the default.

We donā€™t have to do this for all of the other screens and reports (native or not), so I pushed back on that answer, but they are sticking to it. I am here to ask the real experts if they are correct or if I need to press them that this is a bug within this particular application?

Hereā€™s the settings of that Quick Search:

Did you try checking the option ā€˜Suppress Baseā€™ ?

I havenā€™t, because I donā€™t want it to suppress the base. There are certain places (New PO Suggestions, for example) where we have to use the base search rather than our generic quick search in order to get the correct results.

I suppose Iā€™ll give that a go in Pilot just for troubleshooting purposes and something more to go back to Epicor about if itā€™s still showing the base search by default.

When you select ā€œsuppress baseā€, you get an option button on the search itself for ā€œbase searchā€ā€¦ so it becomes a question of which way will annoy fewer people?

Oh, interesting. Itā€™s been my understanding that ā€œSuppress Baseā€ meant that it hid that ā€œBase Searchā€ button from the users. Definitely going to play around with it now.

Suppress Base does hide the Base Search button and it doesnā€™t default the Part search in BOM Listing Report to the quick search rather than the Base search. Interestingly, if you have a Named Search (in Classic) set up off the base search and saved as the default search in a particular screen, that saved base search appears rather than the quick search even with the base suppressed.

Iā€™ve pushed back on support that there is a bug in the BOM Listing Report, because the steps they gave me to set the quick search as default was to open the search and then select Quick Search from the Search Type dropdown, but the only options Iā€™ve got are Basic and Data Tags.
