Thanks Aaron for the response. I have used user security to give the
shop leads access to part tracker only and then linked their
individual user ID to their payroll ID. The problem is that I have
not given them access to order tracker yet they can still get into
part advisor and then drill down through "have I sold it before" and
see selling prices on sales orders even though they have not been
given access to sales order entry or tracker.

It makes sense to give our shop leads access to part tracker, but I
don't want them to see our selling prices to customers.

We would like to give some of our shop leads access to part tracker.
However, I have noticed that once a person has access to part
tracker, there is no additional security that blocks them from part
advisor (right click on part number brings up this feature). The
part advisor will show if sold the part before and then allow the
user to see the sales order and price sold for - even if they don't
have access to sales order tracker. Is this a big security hole or
what? I really don't want our shop employees seeing our selling
prices to customers. Is there some way to lock this down?

That is done though user security. Not Shop Employee, but user
security.

Set up the person in question as a user. In Shop Employee choose the
user id (field just below Labor Rate) of their user. Then set the
security through user security. It is a pain to have users for each
shop floor person, but you can limit the number of "users" to the number
of employees you give access to the tracker you are concerned about.

I reported this 5 years ago. Since we have sub security on Part Tracker
Costs I requested sub security on Part Tracker Sales Value also. Obviously
it didn't go anywhere.
