I've attempted to install Exchange 2000 3 times and it bombed every time.
Think I will be staying with 5.5 until there is a really good reason not to.

Microsoft has released a simple simple for all their Outlook security
releases!!!! Its called Exchange Server 2000 and can be yours for the
trivial price $6,486.97 (25 users). Oh you have 50 users? you only have to
spend an addtitional $5,409.38. (CDW prices)
But shouldn't they allow other e-mail server developers to serve trusts to
outlook clients? Shouldn't they allow Admins to determine security settings
at the workstation level, instead of requiring the purchase of Exchange? No
way. Then they'd be compromising their efforts to remain the forefront in
Homeland Security.

I guess its good that they've taken it upon themselves to decrease security
vuln's, but it would be nice if the left the IT administrator the option of
putting enterprise virus protection entirely on the shoulders of non-MS Anti
Virus programs, rather than taking it upon themselves to eliminate the
option of deploying exe files over an intranet, or the option of running
programs that automatically send e-mails (thank God for
http://www.express-soft.com/mailmate/clickyes.html)
But then again, all these nuisances are drastically mitigated if you
purchase Exchange Server.....
Rather than send out multiple copies of an .exe file to multiple users, you
could just e-mail them the location of the file on your intranet. This
approach would reduce memory and bandwidth useage on the exchange server,
though possibly requiring additional steps in the installation process.

The machines it is doing this on do not have this option available. It must
remove them when the security update is installed.
I sent a virus patch to all users this morning and all but two were able to
receive it. So I need to find how to change this setting on all these two
machines.
Thanks for all the responses,
Darren

I see under Tools, Options, Security, there is a button marked attachment
security. It seems to be an all or nothing type setting though. Have a look
and see if that fits your needs.
