OT-Outlook Express links don't work now

Gates can't even lose to the Supreme Court. Pretty big stick. Lots of
money available for payoffs.

I always like Netscape too, but when version 5 hit, I started getting
strange lockups with Netscape. Eventually, with reinstalling windows on my
PC numbers of times, I settled on IE 5 so I wouldn't have to redownload
Netscape everytime. Microsoft wins again.

I know you got it to work already, but here is an FYI for everyone that I
have found. To change IE to the default browser, in IE go to Tools -
Internet Options - Programs Tab and check the bottom box "Internet
Explorer
should check to see whether it is the default browser". Next time you
open
IE the question will come up saying it "isn't the default browser ... do
you
want to make it the default ... yes or no". Pick yes and you are done.

I've found lately that IE works a lot better with most pages than
Netscape.
Some don't even work at all with Netscape! Too bad because I learned web
surfing with Netscape 1.0 in 1994.

Help please:

I was using Netscape. Now I've switched to Outlook Express for email. When one of you fine people sends an email that includes a link (displayed in blue font, underlined) if I click on it Netscape used to fire up and go the the site. Great!. Now that I've removed Netscape, I assumed that Internet Explorer would have kicked in and handled the task. But it doesn't and I can't find anything in HELP to figure out how to make this happen.

Any help is of course ALWAYS APPRECIATED BIG TIME!!

Thanks

Rick,

Maybe you already did this. Did you check on Internet options in the Control
Panel? Review the programs tab and you might want to reset the advance tab
to defaults. These might had been altered by Netscape.

Heres what may have happened.

1) Netscape was the default browser.

2) in the past internet explorer may have asked if you wanted to make it the
default browser, and you may have clicked no.

3) now that Netscape has uninstalled, there is no program associated with
URLs anymore.

If resetting the advanced tab to defaults doesn't work, you may need to
reinstall internet explorer.

Thanks to everyone who helped out!!

Changing the Advanced Tab to Defaults didn't work at first but because I don't Shutdown for days at a time, the settings didn't "take". Once I rebooted it worked!

Thanks again!!!
