OT - Network Traffic Monitor/Reportin

I used to have a program called Observer. Not sure if it is still around
or fits your budget, but it does an excellent job. It has remote
"probes" and does SNMP traps as well. You can always use EtheReal which
is free, but has some limitations.

I need to investigate our LAN and WAN connections. I am looking for
some software that monitors/reports on connections, protocols, local
and foreign clients. This is not necessarily internet monitoring but
traffic monitoring.

Could anybody advise of suitable software.
