Linda, we don't use the Internet mail option with Microsoft Outlook. We just use Microsoft mail.
Aaron, I think I remember you mentioning that to me when we were using Office 97. I agree. It works for a little while and then it gets stuck again. I guess we'll just have to live with it for a little longer.
Thanks

Wendy,
We have also seen this with Outlook 2k. We do use an exchange server for
now, but it still acts up. The trick I use it to find that option, and
uncheck it, apply the change and then recheck it and apply that change. It
seems to solve it for a while. It would seem that Outlook just forgets it's
supposed to be notifying. I have to give it a little kick now and again to
remind it who's boss around here (well in that context anyway).
Hope it works as well for you, or even better.
Good luck,
Aaron Hoyt

Subject: [Vantage] (OT) Microsoft Mail prompt
Hi again everyone!
We have a problem with Microsoft Outlook 2000. We are using Microsoft Mail
(not Exchange Server) to route our interoffice mail to eachother. All I did
was set up a little postoffice on our server with Microsoft Mail. Anyway, I
have it set up so that each person is suppose to get a "New Mail Has
Arrived. Would you like to Read it now?" prompt. For some reason we don't
always get this prompt when we new mail arrives. So the mail will just sit
in our inbox until we decide to maximize the Outlook window and check. Does
anyone know why we don't always get the prompt for each new mail message?
We had this problem with Outlook 97. I thought perhaps this feature might be
fixed in Outlook 2000, but I guess not.
The feature is under the Microsoft Mail properties area on each workstation.
It's under "delivery," "Immediately alert postoffice recipients when new
mail arrives" checkbox.
Anyone.......anyone......
