Wayne, Aaron, et al:
I was looking at the papers on Microsoft forefront. It is an intersting idea. Yeah, it seems like one product, but they allow you to implement multiple (I want to say 5) engines across the network, all to be centrally managed. Therefore, you can have one AV for exchange, one for workstations, one for the perimeter...etc...
I ended up going with Kaspersky (whose engine is used in forefront) because the forefront product was not aged like I would want....but I am going to consider it when my current Kaspersky contract is up.

Wayne,We have been using Trend Micro Office Scan on networked PCs for 3 years andstill love it. We dumped Norton for this.I think it's noted every time this comes up...but I will be the one to sayit this time.Whenever you look at antivirus, layer your defenses. I personally like tohave a separate vendors package for services like email on the server so youcan get the best of both worlds. Just don't layer your antivirus with twoproducts that do the same thing on the same computer as your problems willbe exponential compared to say a single solution for PCs, a separatesolution for the mail server and maybe even a third at the gateway. Thisway, all three packages get a shot at finding a virus, but three separatemachines are doing the scanning at three separate times to prevent conflict.Best of luck.Aaron HoytVantage Plastics-----Original Message-----From: vantage@yahoogroups.com [mailto:vantage@yahoogroups.com]On Behalf OfWayneSent: Monday, November 19, 2007 3:13 PMTo: vantage@yahoogroups.comSubject: [Vantage] OT - anti-virus software recommendationsNot strictly on-topic, but since it come up every few months, I'll be theone to ask:What's everyone recommending for anti-virus software on windowsworkstations these days? Our Symantec subscription is up for renewal, and Ireally want to ditch their performance-sucking bloatware for something lessinvasive.Suggestions?-Thanks, Wayne[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
