Order numbering skipped

Has anyone experienced sales order numbers skipped.
Our system went from order 10980 to 1109

If it was just a couple (and not 29), I’d have guessed that someone started the Order then deleted it. Are you sure they don’t exist, but with a status like VOID?

What is the starting number set to in Company Config (or is it Company Maint?) ??

edit

I see the last (10980) and next (11009) refere to sequential PO’s by the same customer. Was there an attempt to upload the order via DMT, and 29 orders were created instead of 29 lines on a single order?

The order dates don’t seem to be in the same order as the Order number. Is that normal for you?

Starting number in that company is 10000. I created a query, they are not showing up.
Very odd.

Any BPM’s or other automations that might be requesting the next Order Number, incrementing it, but then never actually making the OrderHed record.

Just for fun … make sure that no OrderDtl or OrderRel records exist with an OrederNum that is in the missing range.

There are not automations for Order entry, however, that makes me think maybe someone was trying to create an order from a quote, and had some problems.

We get a similar occurrence on job numbering, a 21 number gap if someone is creating a job when we are running MRP. No clue as to why.
