I have a button created the sends an email to the customer automatically. Now, I need to also attach that order acknowledgment to the Order itself. How do I do that? Any documentation I can read? Any an all ideas and tips are appreciated.
First question is where do you want to store the file.
We have DocStar, so that maybe the best place.
Do you have APR (Advanced Printing & Routing)? If you do, you can create a routing and use the widget to add to DocStar (ECM).
If not, I would post this in the ECM category to see how to programmatically add a file.
I do have that. Any ideas on what to do after it goes to DocStar?
You don’t need to do anything, it is automatically attached. That is the beauty of ECM
So, just tried the Add Docstar in the Routing, and get the following error. Have you ever seen this before?
Have you set up your Document Types?
I set those up and same error message.
Can you post a screenshot of your routing?
@Will79 - this sounds like the connection to Docstar/ECM in the Document Management setup is using either (1) A stored set of creds that does not have permission in ECM to create docs, or (2) It’s using the user’s creds for each attachment action, and your user doesn’t have access in ECM.
It can be done either way, and this sounds like the issue you are having.
It’s been moved in version 11, but yes. Now it’s under Attachment Type Maintenance. We use an ‘admin’ level user instead of individual users b/c all document access inside Epicor is controlled by the menu security anyway.
There was, and may still be a way for your individual users creds to be used for each transaction but my memory is soft on that point since we don’t use it that way. Id’ have to check the DS/ECM docs to be sure.
These settings. If you’re on E10, then it’s similar but in the Company Maintenance window, on the Attachments Tab.
Actually, I have Attachment Type. I have that setup the same as you do now. Still getting the same error. I have admin privileges for DocStar, but I am not 100%sure on windows user as I do not manage that part of this system.
And, I have the Add To right.
Second Image - gray button that says Set Server Creds - this is what I mean. that credential is probably generic and has no rights to add files.
I think you need to change the File Transfer Mode, save it, and change it back to ‘service’ in order to reset/re-enter the credentials.
What did you put in the document type ID field here?
never mind, I see a lot of people already helped you past the routing part of it.
What security class is on your folder?
