I use my Win2K laptop to access my Win95b shared folder on our network without any problems. I don't know WHY it works, however.

Subject: [Vantage] Off topic network connectivity
We recently purchased 3 new Windows 2000 pro machines , my first experience
with the OS. All three are connected to my SBS 4.5 server.. On one of the 2k
machines (a laptop) I am unable to access a folder on a Win95 client. I can
however access this same folder from a different Win2k client. Using the
laptop I can access folders on a Win98 machine. I have the user on the
laptop set to use the administrative group.. Searching the Microsoft KB it
has a couple possibilities. One is invalid DNS server IP address?? (we use
DHCP, and have DNS disabled on all clients) The other is something to do
with a group policy plug-in, looking at the tree structure in the management
consoles of the 2 Win2k machines they appear to be the same. Dell is telling
me that "Win2k really does not like Win95 very well and it must of been a
mater of luck on the one Win2k machine" I am hoping that somebody on the
list can give a better answer then Dell.
Thanks
