TweakUI also does this.

It's FREE too.

Actually, I have a dozen or so people inside the company that have internet
access and a number of employees that have home PC's that I somehow I end up
having to support.

All nice people who by and large behave themselves while browsing the
Internet.

On the other hand, they aren't the most technically proficient.

I had an outside salesman call me the other day because his C-drive was
full. ( old machine - 1 gig drive ) Having him delete files via properties
on Internet Icon freed up 250 meg from his hard drive.

It would be nice to have a simple, basic program that would zap out the
garbage every time they reboot their PC's.

Besides the general clean up you can do from within I.E, you can use
Start/Programs/Accessories/Systems Tools/Disk Cleanup. This will allow you
to clean up temp files (where a lot of video files tend to get dumped), etc.
From Disk Cleanup you can also see those files. Do a search for "cookies".
They can also leave a trail. If you "accidently" got into an Adult site, you
could have stuff anywhere. Your Desktop, start menu, program menu...

My PC's IE5.5 has an option "Empty Temporary Internet Files folder on
browser exit" but that still leaves the mess of cookies and history and
some temp files, and defeats some of the purpose of caching. I prefer to
just set the cache size down to 10 or 20MB and leave it (why IE defaults
to hundreds of MB for this beyond me?!?)

If you're really trying to thoroughly cleanse things, there are many clean
up utilities on the various free/share-ware download sites.

On IE 5 and above, go to tools>internet options>advanced. Towards the
bottom, under security, there is a check box for "empty temporary internet
files when browser is closed." This may be helpful.
