We are in process of converting to paperless out on the shop floor. One of
our next steps is determining how to identify our parts and their job
numbers, without paperwork. We are a sheet metal fabrication/assembly shop.
Below are some of the ideas that have been brought forward, but I wanted to
ask other Vantage Users to see if anyone has a different idea or is
currently paperless, or has already tested out successfully (or
unsuccessfully) a process.
Stamp Part Numbers( possibly job numbers) on Parts (we could metal stamp the
part numbers (but because of our nesting process, this would be a second
operation)
Write, with grease pencil, part number and job number/assembly, on one part
of batch of parts.
Use labels with magnets and attach to cage of parts.
(Both of the above can be a problem if sending parts out of the building for
OSS.)
Any IDEAS would be appreciated.
You could respond personally, or through yahoogroup.
Thank you,
