Odd db start up error

Paul,

I had a similar problem when I was running Promon and stop the database
using the MMC console. If you are using Promon, I would recommend to exit
Promon and stop the database with the MMC console. Also, the vantage.lk file
is the one generated when the database is running. You might need to go to
the folder and deleted prior to start up the database. If this file is in
the folder and you are trying to start up the database, you will get this
error.

Even the Progress sources hardly ever mention this error.

Has anyone seen it before, or how do I make it go away?

Paul,

I did get this in the past. If I remember it had something to do with
memory. Either I was using too much, or I had bad RAM or something
similar. The exit code is not of much use, but try reducing the amount
of memory you intend the DB to use (basically dumb down your DB
configuration a bit).
