Numeric field not editable

Linda, et al,
The reason I had attached partcost as a FKV was that the View available (cost)
had only the standard fields available (all of the avg cost, last cost and std
cost fields) , but not any optional or user-modifiable fields such as
number01-10, character and shortchar, etc. Is there any way to add any
combination of these fields to the standard view (cost) or is this an Epicor
locked-in-stone view? The alternative would be to bring in a BPM as Linda
suggests and push the values to a UD table.
The reason I lean to putting the desired results into the partcost table is
that I have a costed Bill of Material report that I would prefer to not have
to link in yet another table.

Hi Karl,
Â
Maybe you could use a BPM to update the field. Â
Â
Add a field to the screen using a table that you can enter data into, then
create a BPM to update the PartCost.Number01 field when the value on the screen
changes.

Linda

Â
So, the answer is ... the field I was trying to put data into was the result of
a foreign key value and FKV fields are read only.
Â
Crud.

Linda,
I turned the EpiKeyField to true but the custom field of mine is still grayed
out. the 'Data' portion of the properties is also grayed out and specifically
DataReadOnly is still true.

Appreciate the response. Any other thoughts?

I have added a custom field (partcost.Number01) to a screen to capture various
miscellaneous costs. The field shows up in the 'Data' portion of the properties
as DataReadOnly with a value of true. The property field is grayed out and can't

be changed. As a result I can't enter any values into this field. Is this a case

where VB code needs to change the property to 'true'?

I am on 803.408.
Thanks,
-Karl
