Novell... losing mapped drive to Vantage

Lois,
I'm not sure were to go with this. Here are a few suggestions I have seen
over the years. Sometimes when a problem mapping happens the PC has a
conflicting mapping. The PC map be set to reconnect at login to one drive
letter and the Network login says another drive letter, or same drive letter
different path. Is it the person logging in? May be there is something
about their login. Have them login someplace else and use a different login
on the PC having the problem.
Hope this helps a little.
Nancy

the drive is V, win98SE, a login script that does not include the mapping to
vantage. Just a mapped drive from Novell.

What is the Drive letter you are using? And what is the operating system of
the workstation?
Are you using a login script?

Would anyone know why a workstation would continually lose its mapped
drive to Vantage? I really can not see what the problem is.

Does the drive mapping go away or is it the drive letter where the client
thinks Vantage should be that changes? I am not familiar with Novell drive
mapping but if it is in the client setup I can say I had a lot of problems
with this awhile back. I had some people with drive letter E: and some with
drive V: and when client setup was run even if "save as default" was
unchecked it would set it for everyone else. I finally got around to making
everyone V: and also restricting access to the clientsetup so now only I can
run it. All the problems stopped immediately. I nver did figure out if it
was a bug in the clientsetup or users not running it right (checking save
default).
