Hi All, We are facing some difficulties to perform non conformance for any Child parts which are part of assembly job .
It seems like something not right or we do not understand correctly the EPICOR Screen.
We are able to select the faulty part but it does not complete the transaction until we put from and to warehouse… As we know where it will go but not sure why it has from field as its already in WIP.
Can someone guide here?

I forget the module, but if you have one of the Advanced (Production, Material, Planning & Scheduling), it opens up the warehouse fields on Resource Groups/Resources and allows you to track wip by warehouse and bin. Any chance that is the reason why?
Hi John, Thanks for highlighting this , We do not have Advanced version for Planning I guess but not sure. but logically Why we need to link WIP to warehouse and BIN. Let me know if I miss anything logical here.

It is the Advanced Material license that opens up the WIP locations on the Resources.
As to why, some companies want to track their WIP. They might have material handlers that need to know when something is put into a location so they can go and move it to the next one.
Don’t know if this is best practice or not.
We transfer the part from the JOB back into inventory.
Then NCR the Part from inventory.
Otherwise you cannot close the job unless there is resolution on the NCR Part.

Actually only this option was in my mind…Since you can raise NCR from Inventory very easily. I am sure its adding one more step to process but looks clean to me , instead of messing with WIP . I think we should also adapt this.
