No new demand showing up after we DMR parts off of a job - Epico

We do the Operation NC for QA only.  They fail the operation and the assembly gets reworked.  Then when the assy is tested again, they pass the Operation through Insp Processing.

We NC Job Material and it will remove the material from the Job.  This wil create the demand.  We have a BPM that automatically processes the Insp Processing to DMR.  Until you process the DMR you cannot close the Job.

Most often, we report the nonconformance at the “operation” level with a “scrap” code and then those parts will get DMR’d.

What type of NC are you creating?

Are you creating a Job Material NC?

On our jobs, we do not “scrap” anything when we report production.  Instead of reporting the parts as scrap, we send it to nonconformance and from there, we DMR these “scrapped” parts so that the costs for this “scrap” are recorded.  The problem we are running into is after we DMR the parts, let’s say we had a job for 10 and we DMR’d 5, no “new” demand shows up that we need to build 5 more to complete the job.   Basically, the job stays in limbo open.  What would be the correct procedure either to :

1.       Automatically have Epicor shrink the original job quantity required to the total amount of parts that were good so it would close, OR

2.       Create “new” demand for materials to complete the job quantity originally required.

Thanks for any help!!

I could be wrong but I thought the Non-Conformance or DMR had be closed before the Job pulls the demand it is missing?  I know I had an issue in past that we couldn't add more material until the Non-confromance was clsoed....I think.

Most often, we report the nonconformance at the “operation” level with a “scrap” code and then those parts will get DMR’d.

Subject: [Vantage] No new demand showing up after we DMR parts off of a job - Epicor 9
