No More Updatable BAQs?

I have been searching with no luck finding anything from Epicor or elsewhere. Does anyone know if Epicor has gotten rid of updatable BAQs with the most recent Kinetic updates? They still have the classic versions of Updatable BAQ Maintenance and Updatable BAQ Directives Maintenance, but I have not been able to find a way to create a new updatable BAQ.

Anyone know anything about this?

No updatable BAQs are not going anywhere they are just not yet available fully in the web UX

When you say web UX does that include the Epicor application? I know classic apps don’t work in the browser but even on my desktop application I’m not able to create an updatable BAQ. Or at least I’m not able to figure out how. Really wish I was still able to use the classic BAQ application.

Appreciate the response.

Does K23 prevent you from running the classic BAQ Developer? Epicor personnel have told me as recently as Insights that in K23 classic screens would continue to work.

To create UBAQs you need to have Advanced BAQ Editor Permissions . If you can’t do it in classic screen then you have a permissions issue.

So, I’m only 6 months into Epicor and I joined my company as we prepared to launch it. We are able to use classic applications for most of our kinetic apps. For the ones we can’t, I believe they just didn’t have a classic version.

BAQ is the first thing that’s rolled to Kinetic that I have been unable to find the classic version of. Have been forced into the kinetic preview since the most recent update a week or two ago.

Maybe I need to wipe my personalizations?

The menu option you’re running probably has the Kinetic Enabled box checked. Click the overflow menu, copy to new menu, and create a new menu item. On the new menu item, uncheck the “Kinetic Enabled” box. I have the menu description of this one called “Business Activity Query - Classic”, so my menu tree has both options available to me:

For what it’s worth, I also have Classic versions of Method Directives, Report Data Definition and Report Styles that I use pretty exclusively. I’ve also found that with the Menu Maintenance, I can’t add classic dashboards using the Kinetic version, I have to do that in the classic version. So for menu maintenance, I run Kinetic and Classic pretty interchangeably.

I’m hoping the Kinetic versions of these will mature and get less buggy, easier to use.

I’ve noticed the same things as you. I like to use menu maintenance in classic because even after I publish a dashboard it’s not always available in the kinetic menu maintenance right away. Seems to be a few minute lag. In classic I can find it on a refresh.

To my knowledge we don’t have a kinetic method directives maintenance, but with Report Data Definition and Report Styles I have the snooze alert where I can choose to use kinetic from the classic applications.

I will try your changes tomorrow. I did not think about untoggling the enable kinetic option. New BAQ is buggy and does still say it’s a preview, so this would make sense. Thanks for the response, will mark as the solution once I confirm it works.

I think the Kinetic Method Directives just came out in 2023.1.5 or 2023.1.6. If you’re on cadence in the cloud, it’s there.

just ran into this issue - I went into menu maintenance and the BQA menu but I don’t see a "Kinetics Enable " check box

any assistance would be great
thanks

Are you running Menu Maintenance in classic view or Kinetic view? The Kinetics Enable is only available (I think) in Kinetic view.
