New Report Data Definition

Are you talking about the Quote analysis export when you talk about the
canned report?

Actually, I was trying to create a new report from scratch for a quote
summary. The report that is available inside Epicor provides the information
we are seeking but it does not appear in the format we desire. The report
does not appear in the list of reports that I could duplicate and revise. I
created a report using subreports that provided us what we wanted from .xml
data but then couldn't figure out how to get it to access the data from
inside Epicor (not the static .xml file). I was trying to recreate this
report when I couldn't find the report I believe I created with the new data
definition. If you have any suggestions I would appreciate it. In the
meantime, I am trying to pursue creating the report from a dashboard.

a copy of the standard report with a different name (we put ours in a
CustomReports subdirectory under server\reports.)

Presumably you created a new RDD because you needed to bring in additional data/fields to the report, and I'm assuming this is an existing system report.

Then you need to create a new Report Style for the report, and use your new Report Data Definition instead of the default one. That report style will point also to the .RPT file for the report, which generally starts with a copy of the standard report with a different name (we put ours in a CustomReports subdirectory under server\reports.)
