New Multi-Company - Linking thousands of global customers best practice

What’s the best practice to mass-link thousands of global customers? I was planning on DMT’ing Global=True in the parent company, but not sure if I should DMT all the customers into the child company, or if I should go through Actions > Link manually?

If that’s the right way, can that be automated? I’ve got translations in place to speed things up at least… Thanks guys!

I have had to do this for parts with a few child companies we created in Epicor.

I used DMT to mark the records as global in the source company, then used DMT to link the parts (Link Global Parts) without having to create and load the part combined table. The Link Global Parts only requires a few fields, very easy for me.

There is an import in DMT to Link Global Customers, take a look at that.

I also created a BPM to change a few fields after the parts are linked in the child company.
Dont forget to use global table options to force replication of field changes.

Sweet. I didn’t even realize that existed. Thanks, Bryan!

It took me a while to figure out the DMT format - Parent company is ESAPCO, and I made a Customer DMT in the parent company that set GlobalCust=TRUE for the affected CustID’s.

Then did the Global Customer Link DMT, with a format of:
