Network Printing using full Printer Preferences

Good Morning All,

Have any of you been able to setup a network printer where all the server printer preferences can be called? We print a lot of Job Travellers which print in A3 and have a staple applied in the top left hand corner. On our old version of Epicor we would use client printing which would pick up the printer preferences from the print server and apply the stapling etc without any issues.

We are now moving to Network Printing and we are unable to get the stapling to apply. I was wondering if anyone has been able to achieve this or something similar in regards to pulling printer preferences that are not in Epicor Printer Maintenance.

Kind Regards,
Adam

What model printer and print driver are you using?

Can you set printer defaults for stapling, so it will stapel after each print job?

My thought is you could have a dedicated printer share/driver configured for your job travellers.

Not even sure if this is possible or not, but thought I would ask… This way you could bypass the need any additional printer settings.

With that being said there may be smarter people here that may have a better idea than myself.

Hi Simon,

It’s a Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5540i III

The defaults on the printer are set to collate and staple but Epicor seems to ignore it when sending the job traveller through. My thoughts are that Epicor handles the limited settings it has for the Network Printer and just sends it using the shared printer without taking on any preferences local to the server/pc printer.

Kind Regards,

Depends on the setup and you can set in Windows the printing defaults in the advanced tab and Epicor will respect these server/client settings.

Hi Clint,

Thanks for that. For some reason on 10.1 it knew to collate with a staple without the setting on the default. I had a look and another printer share was setup from the same printer. Adjusted the Defaults and I now have printing and stapling from Epicor.

Thank you!

Adam
