Need to know how much product is sitting at a Job Assembly/Opera

The Work in Process Report is a summary report.

If you needed to see what was sitting on a Particular job in detail you can
use job tracker - Job Details - Material - list view. Move you columns
around they have the Req Qty - Issued Qty - Est Cost - Act Cost.

Job Status Dashboard can also be used to see materials.

Both dashboards are using the JobMtl table. You should be able to create a
report for WIP tags from this table.

Mike,
The data you are looking for is in the JobMtl table if you need to develop
your own report.

I thought you could filter it for sub-assemblies...

When you pick the job you want is there a Part tab? If so try picking the
sub-assembly part number there and see what it does.

numbers underneath the main part number that make it up and their quantities

Is there anyway in the Vantage system that I can look and see how much

I have no idea where to look in Vantage to find this information. Also, I'd

Good Day:

Unless you are doing parallel processing, all the Issued mat'l
should be at wherever the JOB is.

If you are just after an Inventory of WIP:

1. Run a Issued list for each open JOB -- or do a BAQ report
sorted by JOB.
2. Sort sheets by which operation it is at.
3. Inventory by marking up the print-out to see if what is there
agrees with what is issued
You will have to account for 'Partial" complete JOBS
since count-qty should = ( [Issued-Qty] - [Qty completed])

Is this a V9 thing? All I get in V8.03 is what you see below which is the option to sort by Job, Part, or Product Group. And as I said, it's only the "Top Level" job part number that it reports, not everything that makes it up which is what I'm looking for.

Nope...I thought if you filter for the sub-assembly part it would tell you which jobs it were on.

It had been a while since I had to run this for sub-assemblies since my current company backflushes everything the report is useless to us.

Len has the right idea though....unless you are running these sub-assemblies on separate jobs this report won't work. However, the rest of Len's email make sense as to how you would proceed if you have everything on the same job.

Sorry for the confusion!

Is this a V9 thing? All I get in V8.03 is what you see below which is the option to sort by Job, Part, or Product Group. And as I said, it's only the "Top Level" job part number that it reports, not everything that makes it up which is what I'm looking for.

What I'm after is we are doing a full Physical Inventory at our facitlity
and I'm trying to figure out something I can use to compare what Vantage
says is actually still on a job/asmb/operation versus what we are actually
counting and filling out inventory tags for. We do not key our WIP
inventory tags into Vantage, instead we use a spreadsheet and I'm just
trying to figure out some way to pull the info out of vantage so I can
compare with the results on the spreadsheet using a Crystal Report.

Good Day Mike:

Do you issue material to JOB's?

If yes, are you saying that some material that has been "Issued" in
V8 is still on the shelf? That is, The On-Hand qty in V8 will NOT equal
what is on the shelf? I can't see operating that way, but you can do a
BAQ for all JOBs using JobMTL file, limit to qty of components 'Issued",
include the Bin# puled from, sort by Bin# ( or maybe just warehouse).
*****************

If you do issue matl and do pull it off the shelf, as is standard,
then :

I did not intend for you to combine WIP and Inventory-Tags.

The print out of each JOB material list is your WIP-Tag. Take it to
the machine that has the JOB and compare the Issued-Material qty on the
list to what is there. No need to combine since all you need to verify
is that the "Issued" matl is at the JOB and not still on the shelf.
Obviously if there are disagreements then you will need to pull more or
send some back, or account for them mathematically.

Len
