10.1.400. Been live for a year, and still the most consistent complaint is printing. Users can’t accept the delays when reports drop into the queue as “immediate run request”, and less so when peak times means the task agent falls over. We have a little auto routine which cuts in to restart the task agent, but it’s obviously not a fix, and users hate the delay before that happens.
Management are willing to consider extra hardware, even, but I don’t know enough about how to configure such a thing, or whether some fix short of that might make the difference. I’ve seen some discussion on here about splitting out the app server, using multiple task agents etc. Any helpful guidance on how to solve this problem?
I would pick a configuration option from this post and review for tips on improving performance.
