Need Help Migrating Customizations from Classic UX to Kinetic UX

Hello Everyone,

I’m currently working in Epicor Kinetic 2023.2.11 Cloud base. Our Client instance is running using the Classic UX we are working hard to transition from the Classic UX to the Kinetic UX. I am encountering some challenges and I need some guidance.

I’ve successfully run the Configuration Upgrade Dashboard, and the customization in the Classic UX works perfectly.

However, I’m struggling to migrate these customizations to the Kinetic UX. I even have all the .vb codes used in the Classic UX.

I attempted to create a new layer in AppStudio, but it is clear that the .vb code isn’t activated as expected. Could anyone provide some insights or steps that I might be missing?

I read a lot of tutorials and viewed a lot of video tutorials but I felt like going in circles.

Any recommendations or guidance would be greatly appreciated to help me get back on track.

Thank you in advance for your support!

Your classic code will not migrate.

You will have to start over.

We will cry with you.

Hi Kevin,

That was my worst nightmare. Now I have to face the facts!

I started this painful path and I used the Classic UX as a reference.

See below the Classic UX, where in Red is the customization applied. The real scenario this process was done by another person way back in time.

I am trying to do some reverse engineering. (It is painful

I have created the Kinetic UX with a Layer (marked in Red) see below:

So far I noticed I am missing the creation of the proper Event to be activated from any modification in the field “Our Shipment” (In Blue).

I point the EpiBinding to the right field, but it is not updating after updating the field marked in Blue.

Again, I need some guidance, since the tutorials read so far are not enough for this.

All I can do for you now is cry, but I wish you luck.

You are in the right place for help.

There are a lot of good things in the Expert’s Corner to check out that have some walk throughs.
