Ooops. I had not realized until recently notified by Todd Anderson that group messages sent from yahoo.com email accounts are getting our rejection notice. To all of you group members who are using Yahoo for your email I apologize for the inconvenience of the bounce back messages.
Simply put our email server no longer accepts email from any yahoo.com email address which is not already in a special yahoosender whitelist. I had gotten our volume of spam down to a manageable level when it became apparent a large percentage of what was left was from yahoo.com. I know this could be spoofed but repeated checks of the headers and tracert and other checks confirmed that Yahoo is allowing spammers to use their system. I was seeing hundreds of spam messages per day from Yahoo email accounts. The levels form msn.com and hotmail.com were a small fraction of the yahoo junk mail.
In order to protect against the chance that a potential customer was using a Yahoo account I had to include a rejection message. Somehow I was thinking Vantage Group posts were from Yahoogroups.com and would not be affected. Lately I start to notice replies to original messages from Yahoo.com accounts that I had not received. I still did not think of the rejection message consequences. Again, really sorry about that.
I am working on a way in Symantec Email Filtering to further condition the Yahoo filter to skip messages with "[Vantage]" in the subject. I will now make this a priority project so the rejeciton messages stop as soon as possible.
Thanks in advance for your understanding and patience.
