Steve,
We were using the same technique with Win-95/98 clients - we would simply
install a second reference to the same network printers using the HP-2
drivers. The first might say "HP4 - Standard" while the second would say
"HP4 - Vantage" - both actually pointing at the same network printer.
Have you figured out how to do this with a W2K client ? So far I have been
too stupid to grasp what should be easy to do ... What's the trick ?

Tom,
We have had some luck with the following general technique; perhaps it will
work with what you need.
Every Vantage user in the company has a printer specifically named "HP
Laserjet for Vantage" in addition to any other printers they might have. If
I recall correctly, Epicor is still saying that you need to use HP LaserJet
II drivers to make sure that everything prints correctly so we had to add
the additional print drivers anyway.
What we noticed was that in Crystal Reports, if we changed the print driver
in the Report Designer to "HP Laserjet for Vantage" then all of the settings
would carry over to the workstation as long as they had a printer with the
_exact_ same name. I don't know for sure if the number of copies will hold
or not but its worth a try.
Good luck!

When I say "multipart" I mean as an alternative to the standard multipart
forms that print to a dot matrix printer. Some programs have an option
built in that will allow you to send multiple copies of the form to a
laser
printer,(without clicking 4 copies in the dialog box) in fact some
programs
will allow you to send each part to a different printer. Imagine that!
No
I DON'T plan on trying to insert multipart tractor feed paper into my
laser
printer! Yes I'm looking for a way to print multiple copies each time to
the printer without stopping to enter the number of copies.

We are using vantage 4.0, and would like to use Crystal for our invoices,
po's etc.. and send to laser printer. However, we need multipl copies.
Does anybody have a solution for printing multipart forms without
selecting
number of copies and the print dialog box?
Thanks
Tom
