MRP Suggestions and Usage

Hey all,

We're currently running MRP in our test system in attempts to get everything configured  properly before we go live. One question we're running into is with the suggestions in the planning workbench.

If we don't agree with the suggestion, I see that we can delete it.

The problem, however, is when MRP runs again (in both Net and Regen) the suggestion comes back even though nothing on the supply or demand side changes.

I feel like we're going to be spinning our wheels looking at and deleting the suggetions over and and over.

Is there some way to not have that suggestion come back until either the supply or demand actually changes?

This is how we're running MRP:

Sunday night: Update recycle threshold, MRP (regeneration, cutoff 12/31/2016, ignore constrained materials, use production prep buffer, recycle mrp jobs, and run multi level pegging all checked. The rest unchecked)

Mon-Thursday Night: Update threshold, mrp recalc needed, process mrp with the same checkboxes, but running net.

Lock Qty and Lock Dates helps as well, but then you don’t get any changes when you need them.

Then you also have many planning parameters that you can use.

Try setting a Days of Supply to combine suggestions or Lead Time.  Deleting a suggestion somehow triggers it as a “net change” that the system picks up.  We run into the issue where we aren’t getting suggestions when we would expect to.
