MRP Part Issues

Have a part, 986, that MRP is not creating jobs for.

Part Maint–>Sites–>Details have Min on-hand: 6; Max on-hand: 30; Safety Stock: 6; Re-order to Max: True; Qty Bearing: True; Lead Time: 7

Part Trans History: 11/27 fell to 10, 12/4 fell to 7, 12/6 fell to 3, 12/13 fell to 2; 1/2 zero.

No Job created during this time. Where else can I check and see what is causing this to get missed in the MRP?

Check to see if the part is manufactured on both part & site:

Also, is it set to have MRP Processed:

Yes, all of those are correct. Both set to Manufacture and Process MRP is selected.

Can you share a screenshot of timephase against the part?

Hi William,

That 2017 job due date to fulfill your urgent demand (SS) doesn’t look too good to me. Do you have Dynamic checked on your Schedule start date for your submitted MRP process?

Nancy

No, I do not. Should I?

Here are some things to check:

  1. Part with no revision, no approved revision, or approved revision with future date only.
  2. One of the materials on the BOM is inactive
  3. One of the materials within the BoM is on hold

How do you check if it is on hold or not?

I’m thinking its the check box that says hold in Part Maint! LOL!

All of those are good.

I recommend it or your urgent planning needs (i.e., fulfill SS) will all get date input here or an old submitted to scheduler date. Screenshots speak a thousand volumes. Want to show us your MRP submit dialog settings?

Just noticed the date on the MRP was for 2016…  So, i changed that and it now its working.

@Nancy_Hoyt @lgraham Lastly, I need to change the Scheduled and it was done by Manager. How do I change user so I can change it?

Hi William,

It depends on what your privileges are. If you can login as manager login that the MRP was submitted under, then bring the submitted task up via System Monitor / Actions display all tasks / Scheduled Tasks and double click on that row for the process MRP and it’ll open the dialog. Change it and click process on it to get it resubmitted. Check to ensure in system monitor that it looks like you have it setup.
If you can’t login as manager but have admin privs in db, then I think you can select the process MRP scheduled task under system monitor (view all people’s tasks via actions “display all Tasks”), delete the row, then you go to process MRP dialog under prod folder and open it and resubmit it. See my screenshot above on my MRP dialog that shows at bottom that it’s submitted to “MRP Schedule” and clicked as recurring.
