MRP Errors Blank Title 107482

Just some possible places to start looking: Did you make any changes to the resource groups attached to the operations recently? When you add the operation back on, does a different resource group show up and is the original resource group assigned to a zero-time calendar?

MRP is not creating jobs for all of our parts with approved methods.

We run MRP to the following settings:

Regenerate
Igonore Constrained Materials
Allow Historical Dates
Use Production Preparation Buffer
Number of MRP Processes: 3
Number of Schedulers: 3

For 98% of our parts it works great. But for a handful of parts it creates suggestions for past due jobs and creates jobs for future demand. Why doesn't it create all the necessary jobs?

We have many other parts that have past and future demand and it creates all the required jobs.
MRP questions like yours are hard to answer without more details.
Here are a few basic questions I ask myself when I start looking at MRP issues.

What version of Vantage?
Is it always the same parts?
Is the part related with complex methods, sub-assemblies or phantoms?
Are there any differences in the Part Plant for this part: Planning or MRP planning.
Are there any special Planning settings in the parts class?
Do I have MRP logs?

Hi Marco,

> Two are top level and two are level 1 subassemblies
I've had date problems when mixing subassemblies and phantoms.
If you only are going down one level I'd be surprised if this were the cause of your issues.

Also I forgot one other basic question:
In company config, modules, production - is "Global Reschedule Started Operations" checked?
I've had better MRP results when it is checked.

Also, I wasn't sure from your post.
Is MRP setting up your supply quantities but... with incorrect dates.
Or are you not getting any supply... even though you have demand?

If the latter, have you tried firming jobs and then running MRP once again?
I have seen MRP miss processing demand from unfirm jobs. It is some kind of timing thing. If the new supply pops out with a second MRP run, In some case I've fixed it by re-arranging methods.

Is MRP setting up your supply quantities but... with incorrect dates.
Or are you not getting any supply... even though you have demand? It sees the demand, however if the demand is in the past it creates a suggestion, if it's in the future it creates a job.

If the latter, have you tried firming jobs and then running MRP once again? I will try this tonight

Are you using Auto Consume Stock? We are using 9.05.607A and have just run into a bug with MRP (SCR 92971). The problem occurs after a successful MRP and firming jobs that have Plan As Sub-assemblies. Time Phase gets messed up and subsequent MRP runs makes incorrect suggestions. There is no work around, I am waiting for a date for a fix.

Where is the plan as subassembly setting in vantage? Is this a 9 feature or is it the equivalent as pull as subassembly in 8.03?

I can't speak for version 8.03, but 9.05 has View, Plan and Pull As Assembly check boxes that are set within the parent method for materials that have methods themselves. Pull As and Plan As are mutually exclusive.

The problem occurs after a successful MRP and firming jobs that have Plan As Sub-assemblies. Time Phase gets messed up and subsequent MRP runs makes incorrect suggestions. There is no work around, I am waiting for a date for a fix.

In Epicor 9.05

we are beginning to have errors when MRP runs. The funny part of it, is that it's not consistent... a part will run fine for weeks then all of the sudden I get this error.

20:46:52 Creating new unfirm job:SMRP0000003960 Quantity:11.
20:46:52 Adding to job:SMRP0000003960 Quantity:11.
20:46:52 Copying BOM from Part:954036C3 Rev:#S1/R to Job:SMRP0000003960.
20:46:53 Type:3Program:es/roughcutdate.pMethod:getDateHourTable:JobOperField:Rowid:Message:Working calendar for scheduling not found.
20:46:53 Error copying BOM, deleting Job:SMRP0000003960.
20:46:53 Creating new mfg suggestion for Part:954036C3 Quantity:11 on 12/30/12.

I fit it by checking out the part, deleting the operations and adding them again. then MRP works just fine. but the next time it runs it has the exact same problem on a different part... even if that part has had approved methods since last year, and there has always been demand for the part.

Anyone know what might be causing this?
