Mps

Vantage does not have a true MPS module. MPS should be independent of the Customer Orders so you can create demand based on issues that you set. Capacity in machines and or people, adding and controlling safety stocks etc. You then can have a Scheduler maintaining the MPS. With the proper use of MPS you can create demand to level load your shop so you would have little O.T. at busy times and added work thru slow times. MPS being independent until you firm the job, created by MPS, then the Customer Orders would consume stock and the MPS schedule. MPS and Forecast are completely different in that the Forecast should be consumed by the Customer Order and the Customer Order should consume the MPS..A flag should be able to be used to designate which Items you would want as MPS.

With Vantage, at this time, the demand which comes from the Customer Order consumes the forecast and MPS, which act as the same thing....

I was told that Sonoma would have MPS which is independent

We are using 6.1 and investigating using MPS with Forecasting. We have
had a little trouble with the MPS eliminating all Forecasts when MRP is
run. Epicor has confirmed this. The question is this...is anyone out
there using MPS? If so, what is the benefit?
